On this project I acted as a project manager by coordinating with a cabinet company, providing suggestions for the pantry layout, scheduling and supervising the handyman and the installation, and reorganizing the pantry. It was JAMMED with food, things were piled on the floor and shoved on the shelves. It was my client's least favorite room in the house. It may appear to you that I threw everything away but that is not true at all! Yes, there were items tossed but by placing all of the "like" items organized on the pantry shelves, all facing front just like at the grocery store. I also downsized messy bags of flour, sugar, and rice into slim canisters from Target. To read more about this project, click here.
My clients live in an older 1920s home with limited closet space. They are considering selling it and their Realtor suggested they get organized and invest in custom closets to increase the value and eye appeal of the master bedroom. I teamed up with a local cabinet company for this project; I declutter, they build and install, and then I put everything away in an organized way that works for the client. The before and afters illustrate the difference it makes when you have a custom closet paired with an organized wardrobe...pure bliss! To read more about this project, click here.
I was able to give my client's closet the feel of a custom closet without the hefty price tag. We moved a shelf that was on the top shelf down to floor of the closet for easier accessibility to sweaters and workout clothing. The shoes that she wears currently are organized on a rack on the bottom of her closet and her out of season shoes were placed in clear shoeboxes with photographs on the outside creating a photo inventory of her collection. The space under this sink was great but it wasn't being utilized and didn't look very appealing. My client asked me to maximze the storage space and create a system that would help her find her beauty products with ease. I sorted everything and measured the space, picked a color scheme for products, created a shopping list. I love the transformation and so did my client, she loved the pretty bins and all of the labels! To read more about this project, click here.
My client was wasting time and money looking for makeup scattered throughout her vanity. After one quick session we converted her junk drawer into her new makeup haven. After sorting through her makeup, I wiped out the drawer and lined it with pretty shelf liner. Then I used velcro on the bottom of the white containers to keep them in place. Paying for a storage unit can be expensive. If you need one it should be functional and organized so you can find what you are looking for. For this project I built shelving and stored everything that my client wanted to keep in clear labeled bins, now it functions more like a garage which is perfect for his lifestyle. When I reorganized this kitchen I transitioned a lower cabinet into a baking and treats cabinet. I moved all of the snack foods into the new pantry area and used clear glass containers that my client already owned to store her baking items and special treats like candy and gum. I love how clean and tidy it looks! To read more about this project, click here.
Because of my background in insurance claims and the law, I am well versed in which documents my clients should hang on to and those they can let go of. I brought this project home with me, I created piles on my living room floor for each category (child support, home inventory, taxes, custody, etc..) Then I decided which categories made sense to be in the same binder, 3-hole punched everything and filed them into binders with labeled tabs and an index on the front cover. The key to an organized closet is "looking" organized. You want your closet to have a continuous clean and clutter free look, just like your favorite store or boutique. Recently I organized and edited my client's master closet, he is a busy professional who wanted me to make the changes while he was at work, talk about trust! I filled up 5 garbage bags with items that looked worn, out of date, or needed to be replaced, and organized them by type and color. To read more about this project, click here.
If you struggle with putting together an outfit everyday or feel like you have nothing to wear it is time to organize your closet. My client could barely make it inside of this closet because it had become a dumping zone for everything in her house. We worked together to sort things, try things on, and determine what she needed and didn't need. As we organized her closet I focused on how and why her closet got this way. It is so important for me to help my clients reflect and conquer any mental roadblocks before we visualize what their organized spaces should look like. She now has functional wardrobe, everything is organized by color and sleeve length on matching velvet hangers. To read more about this project, click here.
Hiring a Professional Organizer can help you get over your fears of entertaining. For this project I involved the entire family as an organizer and a project manager. We spent the day moving unwanted furniture out to the garage so it could be sold, junk to the garbage, we rearranged the furniture, and added personal touches. Since we completed this project they couldn't be happier, they have hosted family parties and entertained friends. To read more about this project, click here.
