The Kuzak’s Closet team was dressed to impress this past Thursday night at the Kuzak’s Closet X Kate Spade event at Santana Row. It was great to see so many familiar faces of estate sale shoppers, organizing clients, close friends and even colleagues like Stacey from Timestyle Coaching and Consulting, another professional organizer in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My friend Billy is someone very special to me. Billy has worked at Kuzak’s Closet for several years and oversees the muscle of our operation. There is very little I wouldn’t do for him, but when he asked me to invite 50+ people to my house so he could roast a pig in my backyard I was a bit nervous. His vague details about what to expect had the organizing wheels in my head turning for weeks. His recurring answer to all questions was “don’t worry, be happy.” That’s Billy! A few days before the event he gave me a short shopping list and told me to alert the fire department because there would be smoke. I did my best to hold back my concerns (the shopping list was short!) and trusted that he knew what he was doing. The pressure was on! Among the crowd were Googlers from my husband’s office, along with most of the Kuzak’s Closet team, a fantastic array of local friends and Billy’s family (including his brother and son who flew in from Texas exclusively for the event!).
I love to entertain. My house is often open to dinner guests and frequent last minute gatherings but the event that happened last weekend was something that will be forever in my heart and soul. As my friend Ruth and her family packed their to-go boxes at the end of the night she summed up the evening delightfully, “I feel like we all need to say goodbye before we head to the airport”. Ruth was exactly right, for one magical evening it did feel like 50 people were taken away to a little island called Tonga. Continue Reading »

With summer season rapidly upon us, hosting close friends and family for a dinner and drinks is a must-do summer activity! Consider highlighting the evening with a fabulous cocktail bar. Whether it be a sit-down soiree or a casual BBQ, a curated bar area can really set the tone for a fun evening.

Where did November go? Thanksgiving has passed and we’re plowing full-force into the December holiday season. Orange and brown hues have disappeared from the shelves at my local stores and been replaced with an explosion of red’s and green’s. I love it!
Today’s post is a review of the super busy month of November. This month has really shown the diversity of the projects that my team at Kuzak’s Closet are tackling; great closet and garage organization projects, a full house relocation and un-pack, estate inventory, several estate sales and liquidations, DIY events, a book release and so much more!!
December is looking pretty packed but I am taking some time to visit family, which will be fantastic and I am looking forward to a break. We managed to squeeze two estate sales into December so be on the lookout for those updates and I am bringing back the Holiday Decor Week from last year that was so much fun. I love to see everyone’s different decorations and hear about the holiday traditions of my family and friends. Continue Reading »

My friend and fellow style blogger Monica at Living in Vogue and I were invited to a fun store in downtown Palo Alto called West Elm to help celebrate their 1 year anniversary. We were tasked with styling a table using items from their Heritage and Murray collections and items from our own DIY table decorations. After visiting their store and exploring their collections we were inspired to create a rustic cabin table setting. I decided to make these DIY Chalk Acorn Placeholders. The beauty of these acorns is that they will be the most unique item at your holiday table and they are super easy to make! Continue Reading »
