Halloween is here and that means it is officially the start of the holiday season! This year Halloween is all about getting crazy with pumpkins. Pumpkin vases, pumpkin beverage buckets, bedazzled pumpkins, oh my! We have seen so many cool and exciting uses for pumpkins this season we decided to create a Pumpkin-inspired Pinterest Page filled with fabulous ideas like the cool samples in the collage above. In addition to our Pinterest pumpkin extravaganza we are sharing two of our very favorite Halloween-inspired storage ideas.

Along with American flags and American apple pie, classic American cars are a big highlight of Fourth Of July celebrations. Therefore when Kuzak’s Closet recently acquired the honor of reviving some timeless American beauties, the team was so excited to have a vintage fleet of their own that is truly nostalgic of American life.

Greetings! My name is Nancy and I am a transplant from Canada married to a Montanian who I love and adore with all my heart and soul. My husband and I live with our labradoodle Milly in California while our three married children and four grandchildren live in various parts of Montana. We have lived in California for 20 months and are loving every single day of it!
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Thanksgiving in Canada is celebrated in October and my family has always put up Christmas decorations the day after Remembrance (aka: Veterans) Day. Since moving to California the inside of my house has been decorated for Christmas on November 12th, while the outside has been decorated for Thanksgiving/Harvest until American Thanksgiving has ended. My parents live in Victoria, BC and even now (my Dad is 90, my Mum is 82) when spending Christmas with my parents, I wake at around 5 am, go screaming into their bedroom and say “Santa’s been here, Santa’s been here … GET UP!!!”, to which my Dad always rolls his eyes, but deep down, we all know its the start to a great family day together.
Throughout the year my husband and I are always working on projects together. We designed the “Rustic American Flag” shown in my photos, we restyled the foyer table (which started out as a 1970’s oak dresser) and we are in the process of making a decorative art piece using collected keys, wire & reclaimed redwood!
My American life is a wonderful treasure that I cherish, our life in California is an adventure around every corner and our first official Christmas is being approached with awe & amazement (our house was in a flux of renovations for the first 12 months – so I don’t count is as our first Christmas!). Merry Christmas from our house to yours and may 2014 bring you all of the best that life has to offer.

The smell of a freshly cut tree, colorful shining lights, nostalgic ornaments and pretty wrapped presents, there is so much that is truly magical about Christmas. It makes me so happy to see how everyone who celebrates Christmas does so in their own special way and I am thankful for our guest contributors who have allowed us to take a peak into their home, family traditions and even shared some of their best holiday tips. As we reach the 3/4 mark of Holiday Decor Week I am very pleased to welcome guest contributor, Trish Hunt.
