Bank of the West Tennis Tourney

TGIF right!  I had another busy week coordinating the the clean up over at the site of my recent estate sale and regular organizing sessions with clients.  Yesterday my afternoon client canceled her appointment so I found myself with free afternoon which was a real treat.  Instead of laying on the couch watching the real housewives I decided to have my assistant Matt work with my around my house to finish some projects that I have been working on.  I know you are probably wondering what I need to do around here but the truth is there is always something.  He and I reorganized my warehouse in the garage and set up an eBay mailing station which will be a big help.  Then we hung some pictures, organized the laundry room, and rearranged some furniture. After he left I felt such a relief having all of the projects completed.

Last night I finally took advantage of living 15 minutes away from Stanfords campus and I went to the Bank of the West tennis tournament with my friend Jamie, her daughter Lili, and her husband Chris.  We originally bought tickets to see Pete Sampras play Jim Courier but due to a leg injury Pete wasn’t able to play and we saw Courier play Michael Chang.  We were all a little bummed because we wanted to see Sampras and relive his Wimbledon days but we still had fun.

The match started at 7pm and we met early for a picnic on campus.  We had sandwiches and fries,  It was fun to catch up and drink some wine and people watch, there were a lot of interesting outfits!  I should have taken more pictures, the only one I snapped was off Lili waiting to eat, she is so cute.

After dinner we walked over to the match and were able to see a little newscast live in action.  I don’t know much about tennis but I did recognize Lindsey Davenport in the middle.

Jamie’s family, we are lucky to have them as friends!  I wish my Chris could have come along but he had to work late, next year!

The game was pretty interesting, Chang did a little dance to taunt Courier and Courier did a lot of trash talking.  It was my first live tennis match to I didn’t know what to expect.  Here are some actions shots…

There were a lot of empty seats in the house which surprised me.  I am guessing it was due to Sampras canceling on the match due to an injury.  I need to get a book on tennis so I can learn more of the rules, maybe I should download tennis for dummies or something.

I had a fun night and it was great to be outside and learn something new.  There are some big players like Serena Williams at this tournament every year so I will have to try to get tickets again next year.

I am working with a new client today and tomorrow I will be wrapping up a garage that I started working on a few months ago, let’s hope my clients completed all of their homework!  What will you be up to this weekend?
