wine…
cozy cabins…
mud baths…
mineral pools…
gourmet meals…
These are some of the words that come to mind when looking back to my Girls Getaway with my friend Kai last week. When she called to invite me to Indian Springs resort in Calistoga for mud baths I was a bit nervous but I decided to go for it. I have never had a mud bath and I tend to be claustrophobic so I thought I might have a panic attack but I didn’t. The entire experience was so relaxing and luxurious, I can’t wait to go again. My skin feels amazing!
This is a picture I found online to show you what it was like…
You shower off and then get into the mud bath and the spa attendants pack mud over you. After 12 minutes of detoxing in the mud you go soak in mineral bath in a claw foot tub for 10 minutes. Then, you enjoy a steam room with cucumber water and finally you are wrapped up in warm blankets and laid to relax in a quiet room with cucumbers on your eyes. Sound fabulous right!
This is the view on the drive into the resort, it looks tropical doesn’t it!
Our cute cottage…
This is the living room with a pull out sofa.
There was a full kitchen…
A charming bedroom…
And the cutest bathroom, I could have moved right in!
The resort also has a lodge with smaller rooms.
It was so peaceful and relaxing. This is a picture
of the gratitude tree, you could write what
you are thankful for and tie it to the tree.
Someone was thankful for their girlfriend.
There was the most amazing mineral pool, it was filled with mineral water from the
natural geyser and then cooled down to 101 degrees. It was enclosed in this building so you
couldn’t feel the wind blow through. I took this picture in the morning so you could
see the steam, it was amazing, almost like a giant hot tub.

It was only 60 degrees out in the afternoon but I was still able to soak
up some sun in a little cabana. You can see how big the pool was. When
I got cold I jumped in and floated around, fun fun.
For dinner we ventured to downtown Calistoga for some amazing meals. Most
of the restaurants were having 3 course meal specials for $20.11 to celebrate
the New Year. Kai and I had lots of great food and met some fun people.
On the way back home we stopped in Yountville at Hill Family Winery
where I am a wine club member and did a tasting. They have the best wine!
Kai at the tasting…
We stopped at Hope & Grace winery for a quick tasting and were greeted
by this friendly dog named Romeo. As you can tell he was pretty happy to see us.
This is the only picture I have of Kai and I together, I am glad it turned out!
On the way out of town and back to reality we enjoyed some
Christmas lights, I am glad they were still twinkling.
Our few days away were so much fun! Thank for inviting me Kai! This trip was something that my sister and my mom would love, now I just have to get them to visit so we can go…

Ohh this sounds incredible Amanda!! My husband and I went to the wine country last year for a little getaway… but it was dumping rain on us the entire time – and we didn't really get to do as much as we would have liked to. We decided that next time, we would stay up in the Calistoga area and enjoy a spa getaway…this is sure making me want to plan it right now!! Thanks for sharing!
Looks like you 2 had a great time. Love your little cottage! The spa looks like so much fun and so relaxing! Although skeptical of the mud bath, after talking to you last night about it—it actually sounded like fun!
The cottage does look nice!
