The Deal Is Done!

As many of you know, my husband and I have been trying to sell our condo in Chicago for the last 8 months.  It has been long and frustrating journey but we accepted an offer from a buyer last month and closed yesterday.  It is such a difficult time to sell, especially a condo in Chicago because they seem to be a dime a dozen.  It is such a relief to have it over, trying to manage things from 3,000 miles away was starting to take a toll.

If we wouldn’t have moved to California for Chris’ job we would have lived in it through the recession but with his opportunity with Google we didn’t have a choice.  I remember how excited we were when we bought it and how quickly we made it out own.  Just another milestone in our marriage.  Before we know it we will find another “home” here in California.  I do miss being a home-owner and having control over where I live.  As I was reflecting on it today I decided I would share some photos,

I loved the large windows
and the custom closets…
Our kitchen was not personally my
taste but it was pretty deluxe.  I would
never get stainless steel again, it is so hard
to keep clean but it did look nice. I did enjoy
how the kitchen opened up to the living
area.
Our window was the third one up on the left,
we had a great end unit that let in tons of light.
I do not miss condo living though, our little
house in California is much more private
and we love having a little yard for Harper.
It was nice to have a small office space,
seperate from the living area.  This room
was great for the eBay piece of my
business because I could store everything
in the large closet in the room.
Our old guest room was very
shabby chic. It still has some shabby
charm but it is not the same.
Ah, the days of a TV.  We left our TV mounted
on the wall for the new buyer because
we didn’t want to risk any damage during
the move.  Since we moved in October
we haven’t had a TV.  Maybe again someday…

I did love the open space and
the fireplace.  It was such a nice place
to entertain.
