Last fall I scheduled a January trip to Napa for Chris and I to take some time to get-a-way and to take advantage of all of the great specials available during Napa’s off season. I am so glad I booked it ahead of time because our schedules have been so busy lately, we never would have been able to get away if it wasn’t on the calendar in advance. It was Chris’ first time to my favorite place in the whole world… Indian Springs. (In case you are new here check out my previous posts about this fantastic resort here and here.) We arrived on Wednesday afternoon and stayed until Friday evening. The weather was perfect while we were there, high 60s and sunny.

On the way to Indian Springs we stopped at Bottega in Yountville, it is probably our favorite restaurant in Napa Valley. We finished off our lunch with two great desserts, these Ricotta fritters with plum dipping sauce…
And Tiramisu, the pastry chef put it in this cute little cup, such a fun presentation.
Chris was glad to be out of the office for a few days!
We lounged around by the mineral pool for the rest of the afternoon, doesn’t it look like heaven!
We also enjoyed quite time on the deck of our little cottage. Isn’t it cute!
I could just sneak away there and never come back!

We had a nice view of the mountains and the olive trees on the property.
The Internet connection was really slow (probably a good thing because I am a
bit of an online addict). I did spend some time responding to emails.
When we weren’t hanging relaxing around the mineral pool or soaking in the mud baths we were enjoying all of the great food featured during Napa’s restaurant month. We stopped at the Silverado Brewing Company for a few appetizers and a cocktail one afternoon, this Calamari was yummy! The served it with fried red peppers and onion which was different.
Fresh crab is in season so we ordered the crab cakes too. They were SO DELICIOUS!!!!
Look at all of that crab! This place really spoiled me, I am never going to
be able to eat a crab cake anywhere else!
We stopped at
Mumm on Friday afternoon, it was a beautiful day!
The tasting room was really busy and the champagne seemed
extra bubbly! Chris tasted 2 mini flutes and I had 1 big flute.
This is the only picture of me from the entire trip! I really need to train Chris on
how to use the camera! The sun was blinding but it felt good to soak it up!
It was such a nice trip, the perfect weather and the perfect company. I was sad to come back to reality over the weekend and catch up on everything that I missed out on while we were gone. The resort gave us free pool passes so I am hoping to go up for a day in February or March, I better put it on the calendar now!

The crab cakes look wonderful. I never used to like them but it is the first thing on a menu that I look for now. Looks like the two of you might have a little tan. Glad you had a nice time.
