Each Sunday my sister Ashlie and I co-write a blog post about our favorite things called Sister Sister Sunday. Sister Sister Sunday is a great way for us to keep in touch every week and stay connected. Each week our theme changes so make sure to visit us every Sunday to check out what we are into next. This week we are wrapping up wedding week so scroll down to see our favorite wedding dresses for 2011.
Now on to Sister Sister Sunday…
I hope you all have enjoyed wedding week as much as we have. Thank you all to the guest bloggers, it has been so much fun to read about your ideas and tips for soon to be brides!
Hunting for a wedding dress is half the fun! Ashlie shopped around before she found the perfect dress, a long silk gown with cap sleeves and a beaded bodice. I went to one wedding shop where my friend Katie worked, I told her what I was looking for and she pulled the perfect long strapless fitted lace gown, it was love at first sight. No matter what you style, find a dress that you feel comfortable in and that meets your budget. These are our favorite looks for 2011…
Ashlie’s Picks
This first dress from
David’s Bridal is very simple. I love the one shoulder floral detail. I think this dress would be ideal for a beach wedding. The fabric is a soft chiffon and I love the triple spaghetti straps along the back. Wouldn’t this be gorgeous barefoot on the beach softly blowing in the breeze? This dress is also only $350. Ideal for a bride who likes to keep things low budget!
My next dress is my Alfred Angelo. Overall, I was very impressed with their website. It was very easy to navigate and shop around, plus they did not require a membership or login address. I love the silhouette of this dress and the beautiful crystal and sequin detail. If you are a bride you might as well sparkle a little! This dress also has the option of a modesty piece.
Did you know that
Vera Wang now has a bridal collection specifically designed for David’s Bridal? All of the dresses in the collection are under $1000. This dress by Vera Wang has illusion cap sleeves and is very simple without any bedding or sequin detail. The fabric is chiffon to create a very airy and bridal look! The only thing I would change is that there would be more views of the dress online. The only one that is featured is of this bride sitting down!
Mandy’s Picks
I love dresses with unique details and a fitted shape. This
Augusta Jones Juno Gown is stunning! I love the simple strapless look with full skirt, feminine lace and beaded detail.
The neckline of this
Justin Alexander dress is to die for! The draping and the flower detail at the waist is so dramatic, perfect for an elegant evening wedding.
I love the neckline and cinched waist on this
Mikealla Bridal dress. It would be flattering on any bride, I usually prefer a bride to wear her hair down and natural but this look is amazing with the hair pulled up. Wow!
