Living Room Before & Afters

A client of mine contacted me in a slight panic last week after she got a call from a friend who was coming into town for a visit.  We can all relate, some worse than others!  She and I have been working on organizing a different space in her house for a few weeks so I was excited about the last minute change up.  I knew the living room wouldn’t take too long to get organized and it would be more instant gratification than the other big project I am working on with her.

Her living room had become a dumping ground for everything in the house, it wasn’t a relaxing place to hang out and not ready for entertaining.  We spent the day moving unwanted furniture out to the garage so it could be sold, junk to the garbage, and putting everything else back to it’s original home.  She was excited to finally display personal items and enjoy some of her pretty antiques.

This is what the room looked like Before
things were piled up and there
was no flow…
We rearranged furniture and eliminated
the clutter, it looks so much
more open after
There wasn’t room to entertain
at the table before
By clearing away the junk
and sorting through the paperwork
piled in boxes and on the table,
there was much more space after...
We all have places in our home that we dump things temporarily.  It becomes habit.  Next time you are picking up that area in your home, think about how many time you have had to move an item by putting it somewhere temporarily instead of just putting it where it belongs the first time. Stop wasting all of that time and put it where it belongs the first time you move it!
