Moving can be very stressful but it doesn’t have to be!  With a little planning and organization, you can have a stress free move.  My husband and I are moving in 6 weeks so I thought it would be interesting if I documented what I am doing to stay organized during this time.  This is the first video blog out of a series offering tips and advice that will help your next move be a breeze.  Enjoy!

Yay! Perfect timing :-) So far we've been following your recommendations. Moving company hired–check, de-cluttering–semi-check. Can't wait for the tips to help us as we take on that hurdle!

I SO prefer moving myself. We usually have friends come over and help us. Also, my advice, never buy boxes. There are so many ways you can recycle by using boxes already out there. Freecycle is a great source, calling supermarkets (I picked up several fruit boxes this way–uniform in size and sturdy). I agree–plan ahead! Pack and purge! Freecyle is a great way to get rid of things without the hassle of loading it in your car. Leave item in front of your garage and have them pick up from you house. I've moved WAaaaay too many times.

Great tips. We are moving back to Norway in a year so these tips doesn't really work for me except for the decluttering tips which I am working on daily.
When we move we send a few things in the mail and then we only take what we can fit in 8 suitcases. The rest gets sold or given away.
If I can only find out how to prepare my inlaws that we are moving away from them and back to my family in Norway and prepare my 6 year old on the move as she is worried about her friends and her toys.
    Thank you for sharing.

Most of the times moving means full of stress and tired. As you have said if there is a good planning then we can do our work in a free mind. And this video is very beneficial for me and everyone who’s planning to move.
