Now on to Sister Sister Sunday!(More like Sister-in-law Sunday)
Ashlie and I are so excited that the Whittaker sisters are guest blogging for us today! Kelly is our sister in law and Catherine
is Kelly’s sister in law. Both sisters love the fall weather and the football games that go along with it. With another college football season just beginning, Kelly and Catherine thought it would be a great idea to share their favorite tailgate recipes. Enjoy!

If you’re looking for a way to spice up your tailgate, give this dip a try (as long as you’re not cheering for Duke!) It is my own spin on a friend’s jalapeno popper dip, but we call this one our Tarheel Tailgate Dip!

Fall has always been my favorite season! I love the weather, the changing leaves, and of course, the football tailgates! I love making snacks and appetizers for football season but get tired of the same old recipes so I decided to make something new that I knew my husband would love, the Pioneer Woman’s jalapeno poppers. They came out great and I can definitely see myself making these often and with different variations. Here is the recipe, hope you like them!
18 fresh jalapenos
8 ounce package of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1 chopped green onion
18 slices of bacon (cut in half) or prosciutto
Slice each jalapeno in half lengthwise and scrape out the seeds and membranes with a spoon (Be careful!).
In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and chopped green onion.
Stuff each hollowed out jalapeno half with the cheese mixture.
Wrap each jalapeno with half a slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick.
Take a break to check the score of your game and have a drink.
Brush the surface of the bacon with BBQ sauce.
Bake at 275 for 1 hour or until the bacon is crispy
