Each Sunday my sister Ashlie and I co-write a blog post about our favorite things called Sister Sister Sunday. Sister Sister Sunday is a great way for us to keep in touch every week and stay connected.   Each week our theme changes so make sure to visit us every Sunday to check out what we are into next.

 Last Week’s Favorite!

Each Sunday we host a “Linky Party” so all of you can share your favorite things with us.  Thank you all for linking up last week, we have so much fun checking out your posts and reading about your families.   Our favorite post from last week’s party came from Crystal over at Mrs Happy Homemaker.  She showed us how to make homemade soft pretzels, don’t they look amazing!  Go to her blog for the recipe.

Now on to Sister Sister Sunday
One of the things I miss most about living near my sister Ashlie is shopping with her.  We have such different taste but we are able to give each other great fashion advice.  We give each other a gently nudge to buy things that are outside our comfort zones which I love. Now that we live 3,000 miles away from each other we only get to shop together online. We send each other links to clothes that we like but we aren’t sure about and then offer advice.  I am sure you can all relate, you probably have sisters and friends that you do the same thing with right?

On this week’s edition of Sister Sister Sunday, Ash and I sent each other pictures of a piece of clothing in our closet that we love but never wear because we don’t have anything to wear it with.  We are both going to give each other suggestions and hopefully each have a new outfit soon!  We would also love your suggestions, enjoy!
Ashlie’s Fashion Dilemma
This White House Black Market has been in my closet for close to 3 years without a single wear! I absolutely love it and know that I should of put it in my holiday attire rotation. I am unsure of what style of shoes, tights vs. nylons, and top should complete the look? Give me your help Midge!

Dear Ashlie,
This skirt is beautiful, I can’t believe you have never worn it!  It has such great detail with the beading and the pattern, I just love it.  Because of all of the detail I would pair it with simple things from your closet, probably black to bring out the beading on the bottom.  Try it with a pair of knee high boots and a cashmere turtle neck this winter or a pretty fitted blouse and heels in the spring.  For a dressier look you should try it with a fitted black blazer over a pretty creme blouse.  I hope this advice helps!

Love,

Midge

Mandy’s Fashion Dilemma
I got this top 5 years ago at TJ Maxx with my mom in Chicago.  It is by Max and Jax and it was a bargain, I feel in love with all of the details, especially the back.  I would wear it more but I don’t know what to wear it with, help!

Midge,
I chose a lot of neutrals to pair with this great top because this blouse should be the star attraction! I like the idea of a trouser jean with this top because although it is cinched at the waist, the sleeves have a lot of volume.  The trouser jeans will help even out the look without making you look unbalanced or top heavy.  I picked 2 different shoes depending on what your day entails.  Sometimes it’s more comfortable to wear flats if you are doing a lot of walking throughout your day! I added some accessories–again staying quite neutral except for a tiny pop of color in your earrings. I can’t believe they are only $8! Hope you enjoy your new look!
Love,
Ashlie
