10 on 10: Chelsea Market

09.6.12

Today I am participating 10 on 10 for the month of June and as I mentioned in yesterday’s post I am going to be sharing photos from the Chelsea Market here in NYC.  I know I am only supposed to share 10 photos for this post but after going through my pics I could only narrow it down to 20 so I guess I should have called the post 20 on 10, ha!

The Chelsea Market is right across from our hotel.  The first floor is full of shops, bakeries, and restaurants.  The upper floors house the offices of big NYC companies like the Food Network.  I was hoping to run into some celebrity chefs but I didn’t have any luck.

Chelsea Market used to be the factory for the National Biscuit Company which later became Nabisco.
Here are pictures from some of the shops that are based in the Market…
Local butcher shop…
The walkway is filled with tables so you can sit and eat a meal or a snack…
There is a large fish market inside and everyday I saw hundreds of people eating these lobsters…

More shops…
I love the Chelsea Market Baskets shop, you pick a basket at the door and fill it up with goodies
to give as a gift.  They have lots of neat items.
Wrapping paper…
There is an Anthropologie at the entrance on 9th Ave.
Lots of sweets that I can’t eat right now :( , Eleni’s is a nut free bakery.

A few nights ago we went to dinner and walked home through the market.  It was all lit up but totally empty, I wish I would have had my camera with me to take more pictures but oh well.  I had Chris snap this shot of me, I know you will all appreciate my glitter top…

Well, I hope you enjoyed my 10 on 10 this month.  Make sure to visit A Bit of Sunshine to check out other great bloggers.
