This week on Sister Sister we wanted to share our favorite outdoor items. Spring is in full swing and summer is on it’s way. I know I love having a deck and a yard finally after years of living in Chicago with no outdoor space. My husband and I are always outside either playing with the dog or reading in the sun. My sister Ashlie has a large yard and a great back porch. It is a great place for her and her husband to hang out while they watch their daughters play.
Enjoy our Sister Sister post this week and don’t forget to link up to our Sister Sister party. Thanks so much for all of you who linked up last week, especially to Jessica from “A Few of My Favorite Things” blog for linking to our party and adding our button to her blog list. Thanks!
Ashlie’s Favorites
I love decorating for summer! My house has 2 little back porches on it and I have enjoyed accessorizing them year after year. One of the first things I bought for my back porch was this cute little “coffee table.” It has been a perfect place to set my morning cup of coffee and possibly an evening glass of wine or two! The best thing about this table is that it is so versitile. When I bought it, it was white. Since then it has been 2 different shades of green and recently it got freshened up with this cute cottage shade of blue. This is a piece that I adore!
Another favorite of mine are the window boxes we put on two of our front windows. They add so much to our house! Window boxes are the perfect way to add charm to a house and decorate for the changing seasons. I put greens and white lights in mine during the winter, a variety of flowers in the summer, and pumpkins and mums in the fall.
This is a big wish for me! We currently have a dated light post in our front yard. It is in desperate need of a makeover! I recently found this light post online that slips over your existing pole. I love the look of this white one. It’s substantial, yet simple.
A new post light to attach to the new pole would also be a nice touch! I am thinking about something like this…

Berry Blue Adirondack Chairs
I bought these chairs for our deck and I love them. They come in about 10 different colors and are lightweight and can easily be stacked. I chose blue because my house is green and I wanted something that would coordinate without sticking out like a sore thumb. Harper was posing for the camera, she is quite the ham now that I bought a new camera.
I bought this little toy chest for Harper at TJ Maxx last fall and it really comes in handy. It is so nice to keep her “outdoor” toys outdoors, he stinky bones and gross balls do not need to come in the house. When she wants to play to hits it with her paw until you open it up and pull something out, she’s a smart little cookie.
Lavender Round Wreath from William’s Sonoma
I have been looking for a wreath for my front door for the last few weeks and my journey has been endless. I am looking for something I can put up after my spring wreath comes down in May and take down when I put my fall wreath up in September. No one in my neighborhood had a wreath on their front door but I feel like it adds to the appeal of our house and greats me when I come home from a long day. This wreath is definitely on my wish list.
Country Living Planter from KMart
I love this planter because it is easy to fold up and store. Plus, for the price you could spray paint it to coordinate with your outdoor space.
