I hope you all had a nice weekend! It was the first weekend that I didn’t have an estate sale or a big organizing project to work on and I enjoyed it. Our dog Harper hasn’t been feeling well so I took her to the Vet late last week and she has a skin infection and acid reflux (if dogs can have such a thing). She is on a bunch of medicine so I thought it would be best if I tried to chill out with her at home as much as I could. Sometimes I think she “fakes” being sick just to get my attention and to remind me to spend more time with her.
The Hunger Games was released on DVD so Chris and I rented it on Saturday night. Neither one of us read the books so we were a little confused in the beginning but after we understood the plot I was in total suspense. My heart was beating so fast I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Chris wants to read the books now but I don’t know if I can do it, I’m afraid I would have to take a week off of work because I wouldn’t be able to put them down.
Anyway, the title of today’s post is new artwork and it will be short and sweet. When my mom and sister were visiting a few weeks ago I bought a few new pieces of art for my very bare walls. I finally had time to hang them up and instead of emailing my mom and sister pictures to show them where each piece ended up I thought it would be more fun to post them on the blog instead.
The first piece is a vintage wine opener print that I found at a cute shop in Sonoma called Harvest Home. I bought it to give to Chris for our 6th wedding anniversary a few weeks ago. It took us a few weeks to hang it up because we weren’t sure which room to hang it in. It would have looked nice in either our dining room or our family room. After a little thinking and some debate we decided it looked best in the dining room.
It’s nice to have something on that big empty wall now…
The little turquoise bench in the dining room is new too. I bought it from an estate sale and I painted it with the leftover turquoise spray paint from the trash to treasure makeover in the family room. It works out for extra seating at the dining room table or in the living room if we have a party.
The second piece is a print that I found at a shop in Carmel. It is called California Dreaming and you can buy it online here. I love that I have been to every town on the list! I picked up a frame for it and hung it in the guest room. It goes great with the nautical theme in there and hopefully will inspire my guests to come back more often.

LOVE THEM! Good selection on where you hung them. Both pieces are so cute.
I really love the color of turquoise that you chose for the bench. It looks wonderful! The Hunger Games are fast reads I think that the first one could be done in a cozy weekend.
