Back in February I asked for you opinion on what color to paint the little side tables that my neighbor Jack gave to me. Do you remember them, they were dull, dated, and boring…
The options were blue, green, brown, yellow, or other and green won by a landslide. I was at the hardware store ready with my fun pillows in hand so I could find the perfect green paint when I spotted a glossy turquoise that matched perfectly. I love turquoise so I had to go with it.
We came home and set up shop in my workshop (an addition on the garage). We took the hardware off, sanded, primed and painted and we just love the results. The total costs for this makeover was $11 (sand paper and paint), not too bad!
We have the tables placed at each side of the sofa in our family room. The room is so big and still needs a lot of styling but these tables make it livable for now. I am going to add pieces that I really love over time to create the look that we want. First on my list is a rug and some prints for the walls, if you have any ideas for where I should shop let me know! I love the turquoise and I think I want to find a neutral rug and wall accents to tie it all together. Eventually when I get sick of the large floral pillows I can replace them with something seasonal, beige, or even a turquoise pattern. Here is one last before and after, I hope you like them!

Definately like the floral for the summer and do believe seasonal pillows will be a great change. It's way too plain for me so I agree an area wall and floor rug would do wonders. I personally love pictures of family and friends on the walls and surfaces so you might consider adding some of your favorite people to the scene.

Start trolling etsy for prints. . .I've seen some great ones there. Kelly's Korner does a Show Us Your Life each week and she's recently done one so people could link up their etsy shops. . .maybe you could start there?

So pretty! The whole room looks great, and I love the punch of color that the tables adds. Great makeover!
We had these same tables when I was a kid. Ours were painted a very dark (ugly) brown. They've been redone several times, but are still hideous and in hiding in my Mom's basement.
Your tables look awesome, though! I love the color!
What a transformation! I think I would not have known what to do with those.
LOVE this, so great! THE BLUE and silver is such a great combo!
