Each Sunday my sister Ashlie and I co-write a blog post about our favorite things and host a linky party called Sister Sister Sunday. Sister Sister Sunday is a great way for us to keep in touch every week and stay connected.   Each week our theme changes so make sure to visit us every Sunday to check out what we are into next.

 Last Week’s Favorite!

Each Sunday we host a “Linky Party” so all of you can share your favorite things with us.  Thank you all for linking up last week, we have so much fun checking out your posts and reading about your families.   Our favorite post from last week’s party came from Carmie the Single Nester.  She share a cute post about her love of lip gloss and how she organizes her collection.  Go to her blog to check it out!
Now on to Sister Sister Sunday
Everyone loves the splurge vs. steal pages in the fashion and beauty magazines.  Ashlie and I are always trying new beauty products, we both love to look good and save money but sometimes you get what you pay for.  This week we are sharing some of the splurges and steals we have tried lately, enjoy!
Ashlie’s Picks

A couple of months ago I was in desperate need for some new eyeshadow.  I was out of my “go-to” Clinique and since I do not live near a major department store, I was forced into going to the nearest drugstore.

This Revlon eyeshadow caught my attention because of the 5 different shades it included (the darkest doubling as a liner) and I also appreciated the application cheat sheet that was located on the back of the compact. The quilted design on the shadows also make it look very glamorous.  Overall I have been very happy with this product.  The colors blend nicely and for only $8 I have felt like I have gotten my money’s worth.

If you are in the market for a new eyeshadow and would normally go for something like the Bobbi Brown bronze collection for $35…

Shimmer Brick - Bronze
…perhaps you might want to try the Revlon CustomEyes for $8
Revlon Custom Eyes Shadow & Liner - Duo, Naturally Glamorous 020 - .2 oz
Mandy’s Picks
I dropped my bronzer while we were on vacation in Palm Springs and the compact cracked and  scattered all over the bathroom in the hotel room. Bummer!
There was a CVS right around the corner from the resort so I went in to pick up something inexpensive to get me through the week.  I tried an Almay powder bronzer that was on sale, it was okay but nothing fabulous.  I was hoping to fall in love with it because it is a fraction of the price of my usual Lancome bronzer but there was something off about the color.  I guess you get what you pay for.
My favorite splurge bronzer is the loose mineral powder bronzer by Lancome, the color goes on evenly and the product last me over a year.  I would highly recommend it!
