This holiday will you be hosting overnight visitors? I was getting my house ready today for a visit from my in-laws who will be staying with us this holiday and I thought I should share some tips for hosting overnight guests.
1.) Purchase soft comfortable bedding, my guest room is shabby chic themed and I love the plush Ralph Lauren paisley set I have. It always looks fluffed and inviting.

2.) Sheets are important! Invest in a good quality set, your guests will thank you. I love my Martha Stewart Collection luxury flannel sheets from Macys, they wash up great and are super soft.

3.) Make sure your guest room has an alarm clock. Most of my guests come from Michigan and there is a 3 hour time change.

4.) Test out your guest room. If you haven’t slept in your guest room before try it out, make sure the bed is comfortable and the room isn’t noisy etc.. My pooch Harper always tests out the bed after I make it, she is my quality control…haha.

5.) Create room in the guest closet for your guests to store their things. I have extra hangers hanging so mine can settle in a bit.

6.) Put some reading material on the nightstand. Your guests will enjoy having something to read at night.

7.) Stock up your fridge with your guest favorite things. I also like to have everything organized and front facing so it is easy to find if my guests need a midnight snack. My in-laws like diet coke and I picked up some hummus and pub cheese to have on hand. I also have easy breakfast items like yogurt and english muffins just in case they want to make breakfast before I get up.

Enjoy your holiday guests! I always seem to have someone staying with me and I love every minute of it. Merry Christmas!
