Yesterday was the first day of Spring and and while most of the folks in my Facebook and Instagram feeds were buzzing about their new Spring wardrobes and happy Spring menus, I was purging junk from my garage and cleaning up my back yard. I had a nice little pile of “free” stuff next my trash bins when I went to bed last night and happily this morning I see that everything is gone, picked up by a lucky new owner. In my pile was a free garden bench, chaise lounge, and some pots and planters that have been cluttering up my backyard. I just love the feeling of letting go and seeing a blank slate to work with. No doubt I will probably purge whatever I start over with in a year or two but that is what makes home decorating fun, right?
Speaking of outdoor clutter, I received a call from a mom who was extremely frustrated by the clutter of sports equipment overflowing in her backyard, and while she wanted the items to be stored out of sight, they also needed to be easily accessible to her children. The home did not have any established storage in the backyard so I was tasked with finding a organized solution that was functional and attractive.
I discovered it was surprisingly difficult to find storage that was both visually appealing and large enough to store all of the various types of sports equipment. After an extensive search through my favorite blogs, Pinterest, and the web I was thrilled to discover the perfect storage product by online retailer Hayneedle. Offering an array of options for outdoor deck storage benches and boxes, I was able to choose a size that would best fit the dimensions of the porch area. The boxes handy shelf insert helped to sort loose balls and small accessories, keeping them at the forefront for quick grab-and-go.
What a difference a single piece of functional storage furniture can make!
It fits everything that my client’s boys use on the daily! I love it when the perfect product solve an organizational problem!
