Personal Shopping For Kids: Let’s Go For a Dip!

There is nothing cuter than a baby or a toddler in a bathing suit.  I love it when their little chubby legs and cheeks hang out, darling!  Once in awhile I see a little girl wearing a bathing suit like the one below that is so age inappropriate.  There is no need to put a 2 piece leopard bikini on a 2 year old!

It is tough to find enough options for kids ages 2 and older that are cute and “baby” like.  I am always looking for cute stuff for my nieces, check out these little swim suits, so cute!

  1. Great post Mandy! I agree with the whole two piece bikini issue for baby's and toddlers. Not practical either. For me it is hard enough putting sunscreen on my energetic one year old, let alone trying to cover her belly if she was wearing a bikini. I especially like the bathing suits for our little one that are the t-shirt tops with UVA/UVB protection with the matching sun hats. So much more practical too! Thanks, Mitzi

  2. I totally agree! My girls are never wearing bikinis! I love the cherry one (“Girly Swimsuit”) I buy them at Old Navy in the fall for the next summer so they are super cheap.

  3. I LOVE that popsicle suit! So cute! With Grace, now 4, I did go with a two piece this year, because she had so much trouble in the past getting out of a one-piece in time to make it to the potty. I found a cute 2-piece at JCPenney…I couldn't find the exact print online, but found the same style right here:|searchresults

It's a great age-appropriate 2-piece for a preschooler who is already potty-trained and needs to easily get in and out of her suit.

  4. SO TRUE!!! There is nothing worse than a leopard print bikini on a 2 year old! What is wrong with people who do this to their children! Keep kids, kids! Don't make your kids grow up faster than they need too!

  5. I'm not a fan of the leopard print toddler bikini, but I find some of the reaction extreme. I mean, putting that suit on a toddler does not mean a parent is making them grow up too fast. I'm willing to bet a parent who puts that on their kid just thinks it's cute. Someone said there is nothing worse than that bikini on a 2 year old, and I think that's drawing it way out of proportion.

I don't like it personally, just not willing to condemn parents with a different style for their child.

I'm with Mitzi that the 2 piece TShirt tops are great for additional UV protection, and the swimshort bottoms make it easier for diaper changes or potty breaks.

  6. Oh my goodness the Apple and the duckie are adorable! Fabulous choices -TFS! Thanks so much for joining The Sunday Showcase Party. I greatly appreciate it! Hope you have a wonderful week! ~ Stephanie Lynn

  7. WARNING: One pieces suits are not diaper change friendly!

I completely agree with no skimpy suits for babies and bought three one pieces for this pool season. Then I peeled a poopy, wet, one piece off my 1 yr old daughter. We'll be sticking to modest two pieces from now on! Think tankini for toddlers.
